Overview
The firm now called I.L.A. Pasrich & Company was established in January 1998 as International Law Affiliates and it has acquired an international presence since then. Its clients include several foreign governments (such as Canada, France, Greece, Singapore, Australia etc.), the Delegation of the European Union, several multi-national companies, international organizations – such as the German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD, the European Union’s Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid – ECHO, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society; and several reputed Indian companies (such as Ashok Leyland, Crompton Greaves, Fabindia etc.).
The firm has also developed specialized expertise for industry sectors like transport, aviation, real estate, food, information technology and manufacturing. We aim to appreciate the nuances of our clients’ businesses and their day-to-day problems. This has helped us to be noticed as a leading firm for Air Transport, and we are now recognized by two of the better known international publications, i.e. Chambers Asia and Legal 500. Our aviation expertise developed thanks to our professionals offering well-researched advice, carefully thought-out solutions and competent representation in courts across India to several foreign airlines. We represent and advise Swiss International and Turkish Airlines as their general counsel for matters across India and similarly have acted for Air France – KLM. Our oldest client relationship is with Delta Air Lines and we have also acted for Virgin Atlantic Airways, American Airlines, Finnair, British Airways (for employment law), Hong Kong Airlines etc. Mr. Amir Singh Pasrich, the managing partner, has received special acclaim in regard to his aviation law practice from Legal 500 and Chambers Asia, being known as someone with an “excellent reputation within the aviation industry” and also as someone who “…has a solid airline client following.”
What is it that we do? :
The firm’s litigation team presently represents clients throughout the country before various state High Courts and in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. With support from tested affiliate and associate practices and our retainers the firm has acted for clients with dispute resolution work in three dozen Indian towns and cities. We have also handled transactional or commercial leasing work in over 50 towns or cities in India.

I.L.A. Pasrich & Company is one of the few firms in India with comprehensive experience in government procurement procedures through advisory work on general and defence procurement tenders and we have a record in this field having obtained a final and favourable judgment from the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi in a period of just eight days. We have successfully pursued matters before the Competition Commission of India and the Competition Appellate Tribunal, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, DRAT, TDSAT and other tribunals.
We have a dedicated corporate law team that is especially equipped for joint ventures, the establishment of wholly-owned subsidiaries and the related FIPB/FEMA approval procedures, real estate leasing development agreements, infrastructure contracts and construction agreements, highway agreements, due diligence, labour contracts and other general commercial documentation. We are also pleased to announce the creation of a highly specialized telecom team from August 2016.

For a firm that is in its teens, we feel privileged to have contributed so much to the litigation and corporate landscape since 1998. The firm has generally avoided much publicity and press disclosures, but we enjoy being sought out thanks to our word-of-mouth reputation and the enduring faith exhibited by our clients. To say that we pride ourselves on high standards is fortunately or unfortunately only an understatement, for I feel that this firm exemplifies our unshakeable commitment to high standards, accurate advice, purposive solutions, efficient dispute management and much more… such as our aim to offer near perfect drafting based on international standards. You may have noticed the words fine drafting – that’s much like gourmet food an experience one savours and which we are literally judged by. With several governments, multi-nationals and airlines as our clients, it is no surprise that we have required our lawyers to maintain a quality commitment, but there also remains a tremendous belief in our role as members of Indian society. Amir Singh Pasrich is the Co- Founder and the Managing Partner of the multi-disciplinary Indian law firm I.L.A. Pasrich & Company, which started operation in 1998.
With an experience of more than two decades, he has been advising and representing clients on a wide variety of corporate matters including corporate litigation/ arbitration and advisory. His primary areas of expertise includes mergers & acquisition, joint ventures and collaborations, corporate and business laws, banking and finance, investment funds and private equity, securities law, foreign investment, and many others.
